Bengaluru: In a bizarre case, the forest department relieved four trainee Deputy Range Forest Officers (DRFOs) from the training as their height is less than the mandatory height required for the post.

All the four are asked to report at the forest department headquarters in Bengaluru.

Last year, the forest department appointed 329 DRFOs. They are presently undergoing training at Gungaragatti forest academy in Dharwad.

According to the authorities, the minimum height fixed for the male DRFOs was 163 cms and 150 cms for women. But now it has been found that four trainees are not meeting this eligibility criterion.

“After the medical examination, all these four are relieved from the training and sent to headquarters,” informed authorities.
