Bengaluru: The fire that broke out in the Foundry and Forge Division’s scrapyard at the HAL’s campus on the Old Airport Road on Wednesday, April 29 morning, has been contained.

According to reports, the blaze was a result of a magnesium scrap that caught fire.

It took the emergency personnel several hours to bring the blaze under control as they had to rely on methods other than using water to douse the flames.

According to a report by ANI, HAL Spokesperson Gopal Sutar said that the fire was contained by using dry chemical fire extinguishers.

An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
