On Thursday, the Electronics City police detained a 29-year-old wall painter who was accused of killing a 30-year-old homemaker by strangulation in order to steal ₹8,000 and a pair of earrings from her residence in Prabhakar Reddy Layout.
DCP, southeast According to C.K. Baba, the accused, Rajnish Kumar, is from Uttar Pradesh. He had previously worked with Pradyumna, a painter, and saw that he kept hard currency at home. Rajnish intended to rob the money and kill Pradyumna’s wife, Neelam. He left the position one and a half months ago as planned.
In the meantime, the couple made the decision to put the money in the bank. Rajnish paid the house a visit while Neelam was by herself, as per the plan. Neelam offered the accused food because she knew him, and Rajnish attacked her as she was working in the kitchen, strangling her to death with a towel. After that, he looted the house and made off with a pair of earrings and ₹8,000.
When Pradyumna and Neelam’s daughter came home from school and discovered her mother dead in the kitchen, the murder was discovered. After receiving a complaint, the police examined the CCTV footage and located the accused in his hometown in Uttar Pradesh.
Guard murdered
A 35-year-old security guard was found murdered under mysterious circumstances near the bathroom of his house at HSR Layout Sector II on Wednesday. The deceased Venkataramana Nayak was working at a mobile shop and as the night watchman at a house. The family of the deceased was at home when the murder took place. They did not notice the body until the next morning. The HSR Layout police suspect that someone known to Nayak could have killed him.
