Bengaluru: It is official now. There is no proposal to cancel the SSLC examination this year due to the Covid 19 scare.
The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has asked all the DDPIs at the district-level to start preparations for the examination.
It can be recalled that the SSLC examination was scheduled from March 27, but due to the lockdown, it was deferred.
Over 9 lakh students were supposed to appeare for SSLC examination this year across the state.
According to the sources, in a video conference with all the DDPIs on Monday, education minister S Suresh Kumar made it clear that there is no question of cancelling the SSLC examination.
A meeting conducted in this regard resolved to have 20 students per hall, mandatory masks, temperature screening at the examination center, mandatory hand wash before entering the examination hall, using hand sanitisers etc.
Meeting was attended by the senior officials of the education department.
It was decided to finalise the new examination tiime table after lockdown was withdrawn completely.
