Bengaluru: Karnataka registered eight new corona cases on Tuesday morning. With this the total COVID-19 cases in the state has shot up to 659.

One person from Vijayapura, a 62-year-old woman died on May 5 morning due to COVID-19. She was addmitted to hospital on May 3 due to Bronchial Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. This is the 28th death in the state.

Out of the eight cases, two are reported from Bengaluru Urban, two from Bagalkote, one each from Ballari, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada district.

As many as 324 persons have been discharged in the state so far.
