Bengaluru: Pink Hoysala vehicles, which are dedicated to rescuing the women and children and distress is an unique experiment of Bengaluru police.

Under this scheme which was launched on April 10 this year, distress calls raised by the women and children are dealt on priority basis through these vehicles. Taking the initiative a step forwards, soon all the 110 police stations will have one vehicle per station.

According to the officers, presently 51 pink hoysala vehicles are on duty and two station areas are covered through one vehicle. But to ensure that response period comes below one minute, the state government wants to increase the number of the pink fleet to 110, providing each police station with one vehicle.

It can be recalled that pink app launched by the city police has also received good response from the general public, which acts as a single platform for all grievances related to women and children.
