Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a person hacked his wife and toddler to death near Gouribidnur on Sunday night, August 28.

The deceased are identified as Susheelamma (33) and her toddler son Kiran (1), natives of Chennabhyrehalli.

According to police, accused Murali is a habitual alcoholic. He used to pick fight with his wife frequently over trivial issues. Adding to the misery, he lost his job recently and later started to taunt his wife for money to drink, police said.

On Sunday evening too, Murali returned home in an inebriated state and picked up a fight. It turned ugly and ended when he killed both his wife and one-year-old toddler with a machete.

Police have arrested the accused and investigation is on, police said.
