Bengaluru: What could embarrass the ruling BJP at the centre, defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman requested the voters not to punish the BJP for not constructing the Ram Mandir.

Speaking at an event organised by the Think Tank of the party in Vidyaranyapuram, she stated that there are a number of hurdles for the Ram Mandir construction at Ayodhya.

“Don’t allege that the BJP is giving only assurances in connection with the Ram Mandir. The BJP government is committed for the construction of the Ram Mandir. The central government has moved to the Supreme Court seeking more land for the construction of the mandir,” she said calling upon people to be patient.

“If the BJP is voted to power again in the 2019 general election, Ram Mandir will be constructed definitely,” she announced and also stated that the central government will not waste the sacrifice made by the soldiers in Pulwama. “The army has been given full authority to tackle any kind of situation,” she said.
