Bangalore: State Minister for Higher Education R.V. Deshpande has informed that 50 per cent of the vacancies for the posts of principals in Government First Grade Colleges  will be  filled through direct recruitment, while the remaining 50 per cent will be filled through promotions.

Following the demand that the principals of first grade colleges should not be recruited through KPSC , the same is done through Karnataka Examination Authority, he said.

The Minister stated that a total of 381 posts of Principals have been sanctioned. The government will take steps to make online appointment of guest lecturers to colleges which will be newly started, he said adding the appointment will be made in a transparent manner on the basis of certain yardsticks.
