Bengaluru: Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s statement that the Congress has not declared Rahul Gandhi as its PM candidate for 2019, has created more confusion in the party circles. After several state leaders came out in support of RaGa as the PM candidate, now, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda has also supported the AICC president’s PM ambitions.
Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga while participating in a JD(S)-Congress Lok Sabha by-election rally, Gowda asked what is wrong in Gandhi’s desire to become the PM of the country?
“I will not react to any statement by any leaders. But, I support RaGa’s PM ambitions,” he said.
Senior most Congress party leader, Kharge made it clear that RaGa is the only PM candidate of the Congress party. “He will be country’s next prime minister. There is no doubt in it. The party has already made an announcement in this regard,” he stated.
