Bangalore : JD(S) supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, on Wednesday May 7 joined the protest against the four-fold hike in toll fares by the Navayug Company at the toll gate near Sadahalli in Devanahalli taluk.
Various organisations including representatives of lorry owners, tourist vehicles, goods carriers, airport taxis and private bus operators association are participating in the protest underway since the past three days.
Addressing the protestors, Gowda said the hike in toll charges will hit hard the common man and also will be a burden on the poor taxi drivers. He urged the government to intervene and ensure that the toll charges are reduced.
