Davangere: The request letter submitted by delegation led by District Kannada Saahitya Parishat President Dr H S Manjunath Kurki to organise the Vishwa Kannada Samelana in the district has been accepted by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.

Assuring the delegation of organizing the event in the district, BSY said that once the relief funds are released to all the flood-hit areas, then the decision on organizing the event would be taken.

The delegation expressed its opinion stating that this time the event should be organized at any cost. They said to the CM, “When you were the CM in the year 2011, the Vishwa Kannada Samelana was such a meaningful event and a grand success in Belagavi. Hence, we would like to have the event once again this time under your regime.”

In the request letter, the delegation has mentioned why the government needs to organize the event in the district and also suggested several venues for the event.
