Bengaluru: With the appointment of B S Yeddyurappa as the party chief in Karnataka, the Congress have got a tough task on hands of appointing their own party state chief.

The current KPCC president G Parameshwara has completed the five-year term and is still continuing in the post even after being a Home Minister.
With Assembly elections being held in five states, the Congress high command is taking its own time to declare a new president only after the poll results are out.
Several leaders belonging to the dominant Vokkaliga and Lingayat communities are making rounds. Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, a Vokkaliga, who is currently campaigning along with party president Sonia Gandhi, is touted to be the next president.
Internal sources say that Shivakumar, a six-time ML A, would be the first choice as he is the fundraiser for the party.
