Cyanide kills two boys on their birthday

Bengaluru: In a horrifying incident, two little boys consumed the poisonous Potassium Cyanide on their birthday mistaking it for drinking water and breathed their last. The incident took place on September 27 at Kilare Road in the city’s Avenue Road limits.

The deceased boys have been identified as Sayil Singh and Manish Shankar Singh.

Potassium cyanide which is used to dissolve gold was placed in a soft drinks bottle. The children who were playing around felt thirsty and reached out to bottles containing poisonous substance mistaking it for drinking water. Caught unawares, the duo started vomiting and died en route to a nearby hospital.

A pall of gloom surrounded the residence of boys getting ready to celebrate their birthdays. Mourning parents remained inconsolable at the site of incident.

City Market Police have registered a case.
