Bengaluru rural district is ‘State of the States’

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru rural district bagged the prestigious “State of the States” conclave award for its forward movement in the field of education, health, cleanliness, drinking water, agriculture and industry during the last decade.

Over the last 14 years, India Today’s “State of the States” report has come to be recognised as the gold standard for evaluating social and economic health of Indian states. In the last two decade, the action has moved from states to districts. Making sense of this shift, the India Today group decided to conduct a series of studies in each state to evaluate the performance of their districts.

Bengaluru rural district topped the list in the survey conducted in 30 districts of Karnataka to bag the coveted award instituted by the India Today group.

Chief Minister Siddaramiah gave away the award at a special event organised at ITC Gardenia hotel in Bengaluru to the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Rural District S Palaiah.

Industries Minister R V Deshpande and representatives of India Today were present.
