Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have busted a fake currency racket and arrested two people who were allegedly printing and circulating currency notes of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 500 and Rs. 200 denominations.

Based on a tip off, a team of officials raided a house in Vijayanagar, 5th Cross, and arrested Chethan Tukaram, 34, and Udaya Kiran, 38, and recovered 440 fake notes from them.

The total worth of the seized currency is estimated to be Rs. 1.57 lakh. Inquiries revealed that the accused had been involved in the racket for many months.

The police have taken the duo into custody to learn about their network.

They have also seized bundles of papers and a colour printer the accused had used to print the fake notes.
