Couple con private firm manager of Rs 4 cr, arrested

Bengaluru: The city south division police have arrested a couple on Saturday on charges of conning a person up to Rs 4 Crores.

The arrested couple is Raveendra Chowdry (52) and his wife Padmavati (50), residents of JP Nagar 8th block.

The arrested duo reportedly had conned Prasad Kumar who was working as a manager in a private firm. The duo demanded hard cash from Prasad regarding a property purchase in an upcoming township project near Bengaluru. Later, Prasad transferred Rs 4 Crores through e-banking to the duo. After receiving the money the couple went absconding.

Based on a complaint lodged by Prasad, ACP Dr. Sharanappa launched a manhunt and succeeded in tracing the couple, police statement said.
