Cops on high alert as state govt announces few lockdown relaxations

Bengaluru: The city police is on high alert with the state government announcing a number of relaxations to the lockdown rules.

Additional police personnel have been deputed in Yesvantpur APMC and other places to ensure that people do not crowd.

The state government announced a number of relaxations to the lockdown including construction activities, which will come into force from Thursday midnight.

These relaxations come with a number of riders including mandatory mask and social distancing.

As the Bengaluru city is known to be a real estate hub, the movement of the people is expected to start with these relaxations.

One of the busiest markets in the state, Yesvantpur market will open from Thursday for the vegetable and flower selling.

As this area is known for poor hygiene and cleanliness, the cops are on a high alert. Only those with masks will be allowed to enter the market.

Meanwhile, several city roads, which were one-way all these day have now been opened for two-way traffic.

List of activities allowed

All agricultural activities/ shops selling agri implements, manure, fertilisers, APMC, seed purchase agencies

Tea/ coffee estates can function with 50 per cent staff.

Construction of road, building, Metro construction etc

IT/BT companies with skeletal workforce; Work from Home can continue

Emergency services- Grocery, fruit/vegetables, medicals, hospitals, surgical shops and all other set up supporting the medical sector

Fuel, LPG supplies, postal services, internet services

Dairy farming, Milk collection, supply chains, milk product selling units, poutry and other farms, fish farming, packaging and cold statrage, fish marketing

Goods transportation services, courier services, security agencies, printing press and media

Online coaching for students

Banking services, ATM and connected services

Public trasport services; International travel; Inter-district travel

Educational institutions

Theatres, malls, amusement parks,
