Bengaluru: Chamarajanagar district in-charge minister C Puttaranga Shetty, who is facing the wrath of the JDS for repeatedly stating that former CM Siddaramaiah is still his CM, is expected to face more problems in coming days. If sources in the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) are to be believed, three contractors have allegedly named him in the Vidhana Soudha bribery case in which police seized Rs.25.60 lakh from his office typist Mohan.
According to the sources, since Monday, the ACB is grilling the three contractors who are executing a few road projects of the department. “They have referred the minister’s name, but until and unless we get clear documents, we can’t say anything,” stated sources.
“It is all about releasing contractors money for completed works,” added sources.
If JDS leaders are to be believed, Shetty is expected to face more trouble in this case. “The state government especially, the CM is in no mood to save his cabinet colleague as he is repeatedly humiliating him. With Lok Sabha elections round the corner, the Congress may also find it difficult to defend him. So he is on his way out,” said a JDS leader from Chamarajanagar.
