Bengaluru: As the second phase of elections approaches in Karnataka on April 26, campaign for this phase of polling ends today. 14 constituencies of Karnataka are gearing up for polling. Only door-to-door campaigning allowed.
Among the key constituencies are Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru north, Bengaluru South, Mandya, Mysuru, and Dakshina Kannada.
This time the fight is between Congress and BJP and JD(S) alliance, the JD(S) is contesting on three seats including Mandya, where former CM is contesting against Venkataramane Gowda, popularly known as Star Chandru, in Hassan, Prajwal Revann, son of former minister HD Revanna is contesting against Shreyas Patel, and in Kolar M Malleshbabu squares up against KV Gowtham.
Among the notables Soumya Reddy, daughter of Minister Ramalingareddy from Congress challenging Tejaswi Surya, from Mysuru, Yaduveer Wadiyar entering the fray, replacing incumbent MP Pratap Simha, Congress party’s M Laxman is challenging him.
DK Suresh brother of deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar is seeking reelection from Bengaluru Rural, he is up against Dr Manjunath CN, a BJP candidate and son-in-law of HD Deve Gowda.
The constituencies in Karnataka heading to polls in Phase 2 include Dakshina Kannada, Udupi Chikamagalur, Bangalore Rural, Mandya, Hassan, Mysore, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, Bangalore South, Chikballapur, and Kolar.
