Bengaluru: Even as the Central government released Rs 1200 crores from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) towards flood relief for the state, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa thanked the Centre but drew criticism from the Congress party.
The Congress party posted a series of tweets through its official Twitter handle “@INCKarnataka” regarding the issue.
It has tweeted, “People of the state are humiliated with the allocation of Rs 1200 cr as against the state govt assessment of Rs 35, 000 cr This shows that the Centre has zero confidence on @BSYBJP govt & doesn’t believe him. Kannadiga patience is put to severe test from @narendramodi on a regular basis!”

In another tweet, the Congress party wrote, “As the flood situation occurred in Bihar, within 4-days, the Central government has released Rs 400 crores towards the state. But Karnataka has received Rs 1200 crores, after 60 days of relentless protests, fights, and anger of flood victims. The relief fund is just 3 per cent of what is actually required. @narendramodi government has yet again betrayed the people of the state. #BJPGovtInComa.”

The party further wrote, “@narendramodi government and @BJP4India is facing humiliation as the people of the state and flood victims protest against them. Only to cover up the damage caused to the party through humiliation, it has released Rs 1200 crores. Is it possible to rejuvenate the flood-hit areas in just Rs 1200 crores? #BJPinsultsKarnataka.”
