Congress MLC claims threat call from gangster Ravi Poojari

Bengaluru: Following threat call from the underworld don Ravi Pujari to Congress MLC H M Revanna, the CCB police have intensified the probe to find out the caller.

Revanna reportedly received the threat call on May 11 from a man claiming to be underworld don Ravi Pujari who demanded Rs 10 crore. The caller threatened to eliminate the Congress leader and his son if the demand was not fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Revanna has filed a complaint at Mahalakshmi Layout police station, in which he stated that when he was waiting at Belagavi airport on May 11, he got a call from an unknown number at 4.40 pm. The caller claimed himself as Ravi Pujari and demanded Rs 10 crore for release of his son’s movie ‘Lakshmana’ without any delay. Later at 5.10 pm, the person called Revanna again and threatened that if his demand is taken lightly, he would not spare Revanna, his son Anup and film director R. Chandru.

City Police Commissioner N. S. Megharikh has transferred the case to the CCB considering the seriousness of the case.

The Congress leader has been provided another gunman, who already had two gunmen and his son too has been provided security.
