Bengaluru: Former minister, MP, H Vishwanath has always been a staunch critic of former prime minister H D Devegowda, his sons and their political decisions.
There have been several instances of Vishwanath having called for press meets only to criticise the JD(S) Supremo and his sons.
But, all these are things of past. Proving the old saying that there are no permanent enemies in politics true H Vishwanath is said to be considering joining JD(S) and that a crucial meeting has been fixed between Vishwanath and Devegowda in this regard today, Wednesday, April 19.JD(S) MLA from KR Nagar SR Mahesh is facilitating this meeting.
Even though H Vishwanath had played a key role in bringing CM S Siddaramaiah to the Congress party, since last two years their relationship had turned sour following Vishwanath’s defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha election in Mysuru constituency. It touched another low at the time of recent by elections of Nanjanagud and Gundlupet when the Congress decided against inviting him for campaign. Irked by party’s decision Vishwanath had lashed at CM Siddaramaiah.
On the other hand, the JD(S) is more than happy to have H Vishwanath in to the party folds as it will erase the allegation that Gowda family is anti-Kuruba community. Vishwanath’s influence on this dominant community across the state may get party crucial OBC votes.
One may have to wait and watch what the outcome of the meeting would be.
