
Bengaluru: The state government confirmed that the death toll of Kannadigas in the Colombo blast has reached 9.
“On Tuesday evening, the death of two more JDS activists from Bengaluru Rural A Mare Gowda and H Puttaraju are confirmed taking the death toll to 9. Their bodies have been identified,” informed sources in the state home department.
According to the sources, the officers of the Indian embassy in Colombo used the Whatsapp to identify the bodies of the Indians. They sent the video of Puttaraju and Mare Gowda to their family members back in Bengaluru. The family members identified it.
Over 30 Kannadigas return
It is said that over 30 Kannadigas who were on a vacation in Srilanka returned to Bengaluru on Tuesday. “Another group of passengers are expected to return today,” informed officials.
