Bengaluru: Chief Minister Dr. Yatheendra S is now a primary member of the Congress party. He has registered himself as a party member in a party membership drive that concluded at Varuna constituency.
According to the sources, Dr. Yatheendra is planning to contest from Varuna constituency, which is now represented by his father S Siddaramaiah. As the first step he has now availed the party membership.
If sources in the KPCC are to be believed, CM S Siddaramaiah wants to shift to Chamundeshwari constituency to ensure that he can effectively monitor and influence the out come of several constituencies of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar. It can also be recalled that Dr. Yatheendra was recently appointed as the non executive member of KDA committee for Varuna constituency.
Siddaramaiah’s older son Rakesh, who had actively involved himself in the CM’s constituency had died recently and there were lot of speculations with regard to entry of Dr Yatheendra into politics as the latter had maintained distance from limelight and from politics.
