Bangalore: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has stressed to need to develop scientific temperament by setting aside blind and superstitious beliefs in the society.

He was speaking at the Darshanika Samooha and State Science Award Presentation ceremony held at Bangalore. Continuing, he said it is deplorable to note that blind beliefs still prevail though such beliefs were denounced during the times of social reformer Basavanna itself.
SR Patil, State Minister for Science and Technology SR Patil said a Science Centre will be set up in Mangalore at a cost of Rs 11.5 crores. Another centre will come up at Mysore at a cost of Rs 14.5 crores, he said adding regional science centres will also be set up at nine district headquarters by spending Rs 1.3 crores each.
Prof. CNR Rao, President of Darshanika Samooha, said the Samooha has established a Child Scientists Research Centre.
