New Delhi/Bengaluru: “The state government will not tolerate the imposition of Hindi language at Bengaluru metro railway stations. The state government will fight against it, “said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking at New Delhi, CM Siddaramaiah said, “The central government is introducing Hindi under the three-language formula, which is not acceptable to the Karnataka state Government. The state government has invested heavily on the Metro project, which is not fully Central sponsored.”

It may be recalled that Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu recently had stated that Hindi being a national language everyone in the country should learn!

Siddaramaiah differed on this and said, “Hindi is spoken in some North Indian states but not in use throughout the country.”

CM Siddaramaiah is on a visit to the capital to support the candidature of Congress-led opposition candidate Meira Kumar in the forthcoming Presidential election. He also said that he would hold talks with the opposition parties and their leaders opposing the imposition of Hindi by the central government in non-Hindi states.
