CM in dock again in IPS officers’ transfer case

Bengaluru: A complaint has been filed with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and 28 ministers for “interfering” in police transfers in the state.

A complaint to the ACB by V?Shashidhar states that the chief minister and his Cabinet colleagues have made written recommendations to the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) for posting particular police officers in their constituency.

The complaint has also attached the recommendation letters by Siddaramaiah and ministers – T B Jayachandra, Satish Jarkiholi, Krishna Byre Gowda, Qamrul Islam, S R Patil, H K Patil, Kimmane Ratnakar, Dinesh Gundu Rao, V Sreenivas Prasad, Shamnur Shivashankarappa, P T Parameshwar Naik, B Ramanath Rai, K J George, R V Deshpande, Umashree, U T Khader, H C Mahadevappa, Baburao Chinchansur, H Anjaneya, K Abhayachandra Jain, D K Shivakumar, Vinay Kulkarni, Sharana Prakash Patil, H S Mahadeva Prasad, M B Patil, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Ambareesh and Ramalinga Reddy, reports Deccan Herald.

The complaint states that despite the Supreme Court in 2006 directing that Police Establishment Board (PEB) will take care of transfers in every state, in Karnataka the police transfers were done on the basis of political considerations.
