Bengaluru: Amid reports of cracks in the alliance between the JDS and the Congress, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has called for his cabinet meeting on May 9.

It is the first cabinet meeting to be held after March 7.

According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office, no major agendas have been fixed for Thursday’s meeting, but the ministers are expected to discuss about the prevailing drought situation across the state and take a decision on drought relief works.

Sources say that, during the meeting, the polling pattern in the state and the way forward if the BJP is able to secure more than 20 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gets another term in office will be discussed.

“Strategies to be followed if the BJP launches ‘Operation Kamala’ to destablise the government will also be discussed at the meeting,” said a JDS leader.
