Bengaluru: In a first of its kind experiment in the entire country, the state government is launching “Apta Mitra” Covid 19 helpline today.
This helpline will provide accurate information to the callers on the issues related to Covid 19 including its symptoms, treatment etc beside telemedicine facility for minor medical ailments.
This project is being implemented by the state government in collaboration with the tech giant Infosys.
Under the new system, if one calls the call center 14410, he or she will be provided with comprehensive care and support. The people can also call this number for telemedicine facility. It will work round the clock.
According to the authorities over 2,000 staff will work in this facility including doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff.
“Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will inaugurate the new facility. The idea is to help the people to avoid the hospital visit unnecessarily,” said Dr. K Sudhakar, medical education minister.
