Bengaluru: The two senior-most Congress party leaders from the state finalised an all-new power-sharing formula, that too over a cup of tea!

Former CM Siddaramaiah and Mallikharjun Kharge, who met at a private hotel in the city finalised this power-sharing formula. As per the agreement reached between two leaders, Kharge will be the new president for the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

Siddaramaiah will be the Congress Legislature Party leader. This post will not be divided into two. Former irrigation minister MB Patil will get the KPCC working president post.

Both the leaders decided to request the AICC to appoint DK Shivakumar and Dr G Parameshwar as the AICC general secretaries.

With both Kharge and Siddaramaiah joining hands together, DK Shivakumar’s dream to become KPCC president seems to have almost dashed.
