Bengaluru: A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the kingpin of PU Chemistry question paper leak scam by the CID.
The suspected kingpin of the scam- Shivakumar Swamy, a former lecturer and also the prime accused in 2012 question paper leak case is said to be hiding in one of his aides’ place in Kerala, sources said.
The main accused is expected to be nabbed within a day as the police are almost near his hideout.
According to sources, four special teams have been deployed to carry out the operation.
Meanwhile, the CID is expected to arrest several more people involved in the scam.
Several IPS and other gazetted officers and their relatives are also involved in the scam, sources revealed.
The CID sleuths have arrested two more persons involved in question paper leak scam on Wednesday.
The arrested are Anil, physical Education teacher at Poorna Prajna College, Sadashivanagar and Satish, a Physical education teacher at Government High School, Mathikere.
Both were picked from their residents at Malleshwaram and Sadashivanagar respectively.
Addressing media CID DIG Sonia Narang said that both were involved in selling question papers and took commission out of it.
There are possibilities of few more arrests in coming days and the scam seems to run up to crores of rupees, she added.
A writ petition has been filed in High Court of Karnataka seeking stay order on re-examination of PU Chemistry paper, which is slated on April 12.
The petitioner Chandrashekar has sought stay order on the scheduled re-examination of chemistry paper and requested the court to give directions to government to authorise the exam conducted earlier.
Meanwhile, the ongoing agitation by PU lecturers demanding the implementation of Kumar Naik report on wage has continued on Wednesday.
Thousands of lecturers have gathered in freedom park to stage protest march demanding the implementation of report.
Hence the free flow of traffic at the heart part of the city was disturbed to some extent.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Education is expected to meet the agitating lecturers and come out with an appropriate announcement.
