Bengaluru: The Central Government has approved a proposal for the launch of three new medical colleges in Karnataka.

These colleges are reportedly coming up in the Haveri, Yadagiri, and Chikkamagaluru districts.

According to sources within the state’s medical education department, these colleges are being initiated at an estimated cost of Rs 325 crores.

A department official said, “The central government will bear 60% of the cost while the remaining 40% of the funds will be provided by the state government.”
