Bengaluru: The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) directed all the affiliated engineering colleges to install CCTVs in their examination halls. As per the directions issued by the university registrar Jagannatha Reddy, the footage of the examinations must be preserved for at least six months.

An order in this regard was issued on Thursday following the complaints by the students and parents that malpractice is rampant in several colleges during exams.

In a circular, VTU registrar Jagannatha Reddy directed all the colleges to install CCTVs before November 30 and kept ready for use from the upcoming semester examinations.

“Such a technology must be adopted. These CCTV visuals can be monitored from any part of the state,” informed in the circular.
