Bengaluru/ New Delhi: As a result of speedily extending metro connectivity, app-based cab service, increasing online shopping, car sale has decreased drastically in all main cities, including Bengaluru.

According to the sources, in Bengaluru, the second largest car market in India observed a decrease of 11% in the car sale for the year 2017- 18. In the same period, Mumbai observed a decline of 20% in the car sale. Chennai witnessed a decline of 4.5 %. Here 1.22 cars were sold in the year.

Though the largest car market in the country- New Delhi witnessed 1.6 % growth in the car sale, this increase is less compared to the previous year. The ban on diesel cars is also a reason, the survey report said.

However, overall, the country witnessed 10% growth in the sale of cars. Because of Ola, Uber and other App-based cab services in the metro cities, it is really challenging to increase the car sale, said Hyundai Company Indian Market Division Director Rakesh Srivastava, according to the report.
