Bangalore:Five persons in a Maruti Swift Dezire were killed on the spot when their vehicle slammed into a BMTC bus on Kanakapura Road near Somanahalli Gate in Kaggalipura near Talaghattapura about 30km from the city on Saturday evening.

Police said the victims Yasir Khan, 21, Ayub, 22, Junaid, 23, Yarab, 22, and Mayur Sharma, 23, are students residing in Neelasandra near Ashoknagar.

Police suspect they had gone for a picnic in Kanakapura and were returning home when the accident occurred around 4.30pm.

The bodies have been shifted to Rajarajeshwarinagar Medical College Hospital on Mysore Road for postmortem, police added.
