Bangalore: The by-elections for Mandya and Bangalore rural Lok Sabha constituencies created movement in political parties, while Congress has plans to issue ticket to the former MP G Madhe Gowda to contest from Mandya and D K Suresh, the brother of MLA D K Shivakumar to contest from Bangalore rural constituencies.
CM Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar have gone to New Delhi, in order to convince Congress high-command that both Madhe Gowda and D K Suresh are the most competent candidates to face JDS. The names of candidates are likely to be officially declared shortly.
Anita Kumaraswamy, wife of the former H D Kumaraswamy is likely to contest as JDS candidate from Bangalore rural constituency, while state Congress leaders are of the view that D K Surresh, brother of MLA D K Shivakumar will be the most competent candidate to give stiff competition to Anita Kumaraswamy.
