Bengaluru: Newly appointed BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has received an expensive car as a gift.

BSY who is set to tour the state was presented Rs one crore worth car by former minister Murugesh Nirani on behalf of Nirani Sugar Industries. Yeddyurappa will be touring the state in the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado bearing the number KA-03-M, Y – 4545.

Opposition parties have criticised Yeddyurappa for accepting the gift and touring the state in a luxurious way, when the entire state is experiencing a terrible drought.

Yeddyurappa defended himself and said that Nirani presented him the car as a gift.

“There is nothing wrong in it. He gifted me the car for my safety as I am the party state president and would be visiting many areas,” he said.
