Bengaluru: The Supreme Court bench decision to revive the denotification case against BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa might come as a huge relief to the beleaguered state government as the two national parties are fighting a street battle for one-upmanship in state party politics.

The SC has set aside the earlier state HC verdict for now, by granting interim stay and has agreed to the state government’s plea to reopen the case which may put state BJP chief in trouble again.

The high court bench had dropped 15 out of the 16 cases in the earlier judgment which then gave the much needed relief to the BJP strongman.

The government had sought an opinion form the additional advocate general Ponnanna before submitting its plea in the Supreme Court. Based on his report the cabinet approval was taken, before moving to the SC.

With the latest decision the state congress regime can heave a sigh of relief as the ball is back in the BJP court. Though the issues are different the present state political scenario would permit anything and everything which gives an edge for one against the other.
