Bengaluru: A total of 3,397 BMTC staff who worked amid Covid 19 fear between March 26 and April 24 will get Rs.250 as the Covid-19 special daily allowance. This comes as recognition for taking risk to serve the society.

A sum of Rs 95.92 lakh will be distributed among the crew as the daily special allowance.

According to the sources, for the emergency services, amid lockdown the BMTC operated 150 special buses in this period.

The service was utilised mostly by bank employees, post office, supply of essential commodities, police etc.

Now to honor their selfless service, the BMTC announced this special allowance for its crew.
