Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has cut down the fares of Vajra and Vayu Vajra air-conditioned buses, which travel on Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) route by 25% to 37%.

The revised fares will be implemented from January 1 and will truly be a memorable gift to commuters. This will be implemented for one month on trial basis and the same will be continued only if it gets good response from the passengers, said Transport Minister H.M. Revanna.

The fare has been revised for Vayu Vajra buses which pass through Mekhri Circle, Hebbal, Esteem Mall, Kogilu Cross to KIA excluding GST (5%) and toll rate for each passenger (Rs.12). The new fare from Hunasamaranahalli to KIA will be Rs.100, which will be implemented from January 1.

Meanwhile, the minister said that the BMTC will give 15% or more concession in the travel fare when 3 or more people travel as a group in Vayu Vajra buses. In the first phase, this discount will be given to those who purchase the ticket through POS at the Vayu Vajra buses and the facility will be extended gradually for all passengers. The new date to implement group travel concessions will be announced soon, he said.
