Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. has announced a 10 per cent to 15 per cent increase in fares from Sunday.
With this, a trip from Baiyappanahalli to Yelachenahalli will cost Rs 50, to Mysuru Road Rs 45 and to Nagasandra Rs 58. You will have to shell out Rs 60 for a ride from Nagasandra to Yelachenahalli. “This is the first time we are hiking fares after the metro launch in 2011. We need to direct the revenue towards operation and maintenance costs,” said a BMRCL official on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Green Line will be open to public from 4 p.m. From Monday, services on both Green and Purple lines will be from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The frequency, during peak and non-peak hours will vary from 4 to 20 minutes on Purple Line and 6 to 20 minutes on Green Line. The last service from Kempegowda interchange station will be at 11.25 p.m.
