Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday strongly denied accusation that the Congress-ruled states were soft on terror and charged the BJP with trying to politicise the Church Street bomb blast case.
“The BJP?is trying to politicise the case. This government is not soft on terror and we have been taking action. It is a political statement they (the BJP leaders) are making,” he said.
The State BJP, however, said it was not appropriate to indulge in a blame game at this juncture. “It is the time to stand united in the fight against terror. The need of the hour is to send out a strong message that such acts of terror will not be tolerated,” State BJP spokesperson S Suresh Kumar said.
Both the Centre and State governments should work together in ensuring security to people and bring the guilty to book. Appropriate steps should be taken to instill confidence among the people, he added.
The BJP leader also criticised Siddaramaiah for accusing the State BJP leaders of trying to stir communal harmony in the State. “The chief minister should stop issuing such irresponsible and provocative statements. Of late, it has become a habit for the chief minister to criticise the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
