Bengaluru: There are no permanent friends and enemies in politics. True, otherwise how could the BJP even contemplate on joining hands with its arch rival All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) to combat the Congress and the JDS in Karnataka.

If sources are to be believed, then the BJP has given a thought on pre-poll alliance with AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi to trounce the Congress and the JDS in Muslim dominated areas.

The BJP is thinking of dividing Muslim votes in around 30 constituencies with an alliance with Owaisi. This may help the BJP to win by a smaller margin. This attempt proved fruitful in Uttar Pradesh and now, this is suitable for Karnataka to achieve ‘Mission- 150’, according to the party sources.

According to the internal survey, the BJP is not strong in few places of six districts in Hyderabad Karnataka and Bengaluru Urban district. Hence, according to overcome the Congress wave, the BJP wants to strengthen the booth-level committees and create a good image among voters.

According to the sources, BJP is following Uttar Pradesh model to gain victory in Karnataka as well. In UP, AIMIM candidates fought elections in 30 constituencies where BJP faced a tough battle. At the end, the BJP succeeded in gaining victory in 19 seats. Several rounds of talks have been completed between two parties, to do the similar attempt in Karnataka.

The responsibility of pre-poll alliance will be given to the candidates and district presidents. Directions have been given in various constituencies of Bidar, Yadagiri, Raichur districts in this regard. Shanti Nagar, Chamarajanagar, Pulikeshi Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Hebbal, Sarvajna Nagar, Chikkapet and Mahadevapur constituencies are on the list. Mysore and Tumkur districts are under consideration.
