BJP stages protest against BBMP

Bengaluru: The BJP staged a massive protest against Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) over property tax hike and garbage issue on Tuesday, May 3.

State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa led the BJP workers in a rally from Kanterava Stadium to BBMP office.

Yeddyurappa said that property tax was not hiked during the regime of BJP at the state.

“Bengaluru is stinking because of garbage problem. The state government is transferring honest officials from BBMP,” he said.

Yeddyurappa and other BJP leaders were detained for trying to gherao the BBMP office.

Former Deputy CM R Ashok, V Somanna, Katta Naidu and others took part in the protest.
