Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) finally pulled back former minister Janardhana Reddy, who is tainted in an illegal mining case, from the campaign field.

Janardhana Reddy was a part of the campaign rallies at Molakalmuru for his friend and BJP candidate Sriramulu, which was highlighted in national media and caused a headache for the party. Even the Congress used this as a weapon against BJP in its election campaign.

As per the direction of BJP National President Amit Shah, Janardhana Reddy has stopped campaigning for the party after just one week of campaigning. He wasn’t seen in any political rallies yesterday. Earlier, Amit Shah gave a shock to Reddy by canceling the Bellary road show. Shah, however, would participate in Chitradurga roadshow tomorrow and Janardhana Reddy will maintain his distance from the event.

It may be recalled that Amit Shah had said that BJP has nothing to do with Reddy before starting party’s campaign. Still, Janardhana Reddy participated in an election campaign for BJP. Meanwhile, State In-Charge Prakash Javadekar clarified that “Janardhana Reddy is not a star campaigner of BJP but he may campaign for his friend Sriramulu.”
