Bengaluru: The BJP’s state unit organised a state-level workshop on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), 2019 at the party office in Malleshwaram on Saturday, December 21.
Inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan and law minister J C Madhuswamy, the workshop was organised to brief BJP legislators and functionaries on the CAA, in order to create awareness about the Act.
Speaking to the media, the DCM said that the aim of the workshop was to dispel alleged misconceptions about the amended Act from the public’s minds.
Protests broke out all over the country even before the amendment was passed by either of the Houses of Parliament. Violence broke out in many parts of the country with many being killed and injured in the clashes between the police and the protesters.
