Bengaluru: BJP National Organizing Secretary BL Santhosh dismissed rumors of party members defecting to the Congress party. Santhosh stated firmly that none of the members from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would be joining the Congress, asserting that even if a few individuals chose to leave, the party had a robust network of dedicated members who would remain steadfast.

Addressing a party meeting here on Thursday Santhosh emphasized that there was no immediate need to form a government, and any potential departures wouldn’t weaken the party’s core. Addressing the term “Bombay Boys,” he urged against labeling those who joined the BJP earlier in their political journeys as such. He highlighted their loyalty and commitment through challenging times and stated that such dedicated members wouldn’t easily part ways.

As the General Secretary of the BJP Santhosh played down concerns about the delayed appointment of the leader of the opposition. Drawing a parallel, he asked whether a family would cast out an unmarried daughter or an unemployed son. He underscored the value of timing and persistence, citing past victories where the party overcame challenges and emerged stronger.

Santhosh also revealed that upcoming events were planned to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 through Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, under the banner of “Seva month. The meeting presided over by BL Santhosh, was attended by MPs, MLAs, defeated candidates, and office bearers. However, notable absentees included MLAs S.T. Somashekhar, former ministers Shankar Patil Munenakoppa , Shivaram Hebbar and V Somanna. These absences have raised curiosity, especially in light of recent speculations about Operation Congress.

In response to these absences, CT Ravi, a former BJP MLA in Delhi, clarified that he had previously obtained permission to miss the meeting as his tour to Madhya Pradesh scheduled and said he unaware reason for absence of others..
