Bengaluru: A BJP delegation headed by Aravind Limbavali visited the riot-hit parts of Bengaluru and conducted a study.

PC Mohan, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, Maalikaiah Guthedar visited KG Halli and DJ Halli areas as part of the delegation and took stock of the situation.

Later, Limbavali questioned the silence of the Congress and asked why the party is not speaking out against such a heinous crime. He also took a dig the Congress for calling the attack on residence of MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy an accidental episode.

“Naveen, nephew of the MLA had put up a post on Facebook around 5 pm and within a few hours five to 10,000 people gather outside the residence of the MLA and vandalise his residence and literally leave KG Halli and DJ Halli burning. The residence of the MLA, his office, residences of his relatives too have been gutted. Is this accidental or pre-planned,” questioned Limbavali adding that the targets of the mob were clear.

Limbavalli said that he had not seen such an atmosphere even in Kashmir and never before has he seen such an episode in Karnataka.

“If we fail to act stern this time, Karnataka will become a safe haven for such anti-social elements,” he said.

Limbavali attacked those who say that the attack was organised by the BJP and questioned them if the five to ten thousand rioters were all BJP supporters.

“Naveen, nephew of MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy is not a BJP member. He has said that he is a Congress member. The Congress has been saying that innocent people have been arrested in the riots. Who are these innocent people? It is your party leader who has been targeted. At least to show solidarity with him, the Congress could have shed its appeasement policy,” opined Limbavali.

Meanwhile, justifying the action of the police of opening fire, Limbavali said that the Karnataka police knows to do its duty and the decision taken by the police to control the mob was just apt and timely.
