Bangalore :BJP State president Pralhad Joshi has criticised Namo Brigade and Sri Rama Sene for using partys prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s photograph in their posters.
He said that the use of Mr. Modis photograph for political motives by any other organisation is incorrect. Mr. Joshi told sources here on Saturday that it is a question of morality.
The press meet was called to announce the admission of a few leaders from other political parties into the party.
“Mr. Modi is a BJP leader and any other organisation or individual using his photograph for political reasons is morally incorrect,” he said.
On BJP district president Lingaraj Patils allegation about the use of stickers with Mr. Modi’s photograph for collecting money from the people, Mr. Joshi said it was incorrect to use the Gujarat Chief Minister’s photograph to raise money and that too without his permission.
He clarified that although Mr. Modi was the BJPs prime ministerial candidate, the State unit of the BJP had taken permission from the party’s national president and Mr. Modi himself to collect Rs. 10 from those participating in his rally in Bangalore.
Mr. Joshi said Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Mutalik might be unaware that members of his organisation and others were collecting money by distributing stickers with his and Mr. Modis photograph. “If he takes steps to stop it, the matter will be closed,” he said.
However, Mr. Joshi did not comment on Mr. Patils statement on Mr. Mutalik and Namo Brigade and said it was left to the district unit to take the legal action.
